History

The success story of woresan – fermentation redefined
At the end of the last century, Gabriele Wolf, managing director of a family business, discovered by chance the beneficial effect of sourdough on the skin microbiome. The idea for a fermented skin active ingredient was born.
After extensive studies, a patented lactobacillus strain and customized plant technology were developed. Ecosystemic fermentation was born.
Products with fermented active ingredients made from rye, oats, buckwheat and amaranth from Isernhagen are now used by international companies – proof of the power of innovation, tradition and sustainability
25 years later, woresan’s ferments, based on rye, buckwheat, amaranth, oats and millet, are essential components of the international cosmetics, care and remedies industry. The focus on the microbiome of skin and hair has reached both the cosmetics and other key industries. Today, international corporations are among the most important partners and customers.

A new milestone

The next milestone in the sustainability strategy was reached in 2022: the aim is now to obtain high-quality raw materials from second-use products, including for use in food.
With the patented process of ecosystemic fermentation, valuable production by-products from agriculture and the food industry can be converted into even higher-quality raw materials or new innovations. This contributes significantly to the conservation of resources. The product requirements are defined together with the client and suitable markets are identified.
Our patented processes, such as ecosystemic fermentation, help to conserve valuable resources and offer forward-looking solutions for our partners. Close cooperation with international companies and our continuous focus on research and development make woresan a reliable and innovative partner for sustainable and effective products.
