After all, resilient skin needs far more than just an intact outer layer.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our skin must maintain its physical structure, interact with microorganisms, detect external threats, regulate inflammatory responses, and simultaneously and continuously repair cellular damage. These processes are closely interconnected.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">This becomes particularly evident in the context of <strong>environmental stress and UV radiation<\/strong>. UV radiation can trigger oxidative stress, damage proteins and DNA, promote inflammatory processes, and impair the extracellular matrix. Barrier damage thus evolves from a local issue into a complex biological problem.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Consequently, parameters such as <strong>transepidermal water loss (TEWL)<\/strong> tell only part of the story.
